Within the framework of the 100th anniversary commemorations of the Great War there is plenty to look forward to in the Westhoek in 2015.

Commemoration of the gas attacks


On 25 April 2015 it will be 100 years since the Australians and New Zealanders landed at Gallipoli. The 'ANZAC'-commemorations begin with the traditional ‘Dawn Service’ in Polygon Wood (at 6 o’clock in the morning!). Via our facebook page you can easily follow the ceremony LIVE.
To coincide with the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Great War, Westtoer developes a dozen or so new tourist cycle routes, with the events of the war as their common theme. The new 'Poison Gas' takes you along the front line around Langemark-Poelkapelle.
